Senator Dr. Javaid Laghari was a Member of the following Senate Standing Committees:

Senator Dr. Laghari was also a Member of the following Senate Committees:

• Senate Strategic Planning Committee (USAID Pakistan Legislative Strengthening Project (PLSP))
• Legislative Development Steering Committee (LDSC) (USAID Pakistan Legislative Strengthening Project (PLSP))
• Member Board of Governors Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS) (USAID Pakistan Legislative Strengthening Project (PLSP))

Senator Dr. Laghari was a Member of the following PPP Committees:

• PPP Task Force on Manifesto Implementation(Co-Chairman)
• PPP Central Policy Planning Committee (Deputy Coordinator)
• PPP Manifesto Committee (Member)
• PPP Energy and Power Sub Committee (Chairman)
  

Senator Laghari was also the PPP Focus Person for International Information Dissemination and Networking.

After his resignation from the Senate in July 2009, Dr Laghari has been appointed as Chairperson Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, and has since then been focusing on advancing the state of higher education in Pakistan.
